Tyler Allen

Physiotherapist

Tyler is passionate about getting to know each individual he works with so that he can understand what’s important to them. He is excited to build a relationship with strong collaboration to meet each client’s personalized goals.

Tyler is committed to open and honest communication to allow for clear patient education. Ensuring the client understands their own pain/dysfunction picture is his top priority. Working with clients of all ages (1 month to 102 years!) and backgrounds has allowed Tyler to gain a better understanding of the variety and complexity of all physiotherapy needs.

Tyler has worked with orthopedic surgeons providing complex post-surgical physiotherapy. He has treated many professional athletes, even more weekend warriors, and hundreds of everyday people since his career began in 2015.

Since obtaining his physiotherapy degree from McMaster University, Tyler has returned to McMaster to teach various labs in the physiotherapy program. Tyler values personal and professional development and spends much of his free time learning about the human body, the brain, and why we hurt (or don’t hurt!) (that said, he does sprinkle in a sci-fi/fantasy novel here and there).

Tyler began working at Stive over 5 years ago and has now assumed the role of Clinic Director. He has completed countless hours of post-graduate training in manual therapy, acupuncture, cupping/instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, mobilizations with movement, soft tissue release, functional movement screening, spinal manipulation, communication, pain science education, and coaching. He would be thrilled to meet you.
