Amanda Lebel (née McFadden)

Physiotherapist

Since starting her physiotherapy career in 2016, Amanda has reinforced her skills with a variety of continuing education courses (because there’s never an end to learning!). She has used courses like “Reconciling Biomechanics with Pain Science” to provide honest and up to date information on what pain is and how it relates to her client’s injury, and how we can best use our pain system to our advantage. She enjoys helping clients learn how to help themselves, using courses like “CBT Skills for Distressing Physical Symptoms” to do so. She is passionate about serving women more effectively and has taken an external pelvic health course to help provide women (and all people with pelvises) better care.

While she is trained in pain relieving treatments like acupuncture, cupping, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and manual therapy, she loves to help clients get themselves better using an active approach. You’re never too old or too young to start physiotherapy if you’re experiencing a problem, as Amanda has seen clients that are 1 month old to 95+ years old.

Because of her own 10+ year history with working out with weights, Amanda is passionate about getting women into strength training (because feeling strong feels good for everyone!) but has also dabbled in lots of different exercise activities like snowboarding, running, cardio kickboxing, dance, and yoga. This gives her a true appreciation for the frustration that happens when an injury is holding you back from the things you want to do. Thankfully, her goal is to help people get back to the sports and activities that they miss (or just be able to live the life they want to live with less pain!).

When she was younger, she was a competitive softball pitcher and played ringette, but you can now catch her on the ice refereeing ringette in her spare time and facilitating kids enjoying ringette as much as she does.
